2022, Found fabric, Vintage cast Queen Anne’s Lace, 40 x 45 x 5 inches. Was it a Mother Who Named the Milky Way as She Nursed Her Child Under the Night Sky? first came to me as I fed my newborn in the dark of the night. The tightly stacked fabric mimics a string of milk droplets and the hazy galaxy above. The center of each droplet contains a vintage Queen Anne’s Lace paperweight. This flower shares eerily similar shapes with mammary glands.
